Pipe Theology and a Pink Teapot Elephant

It was Thursday and I was listening to a really good speaker in Chapel. He did a three day series on opening our eyes and letting God show us what's what. He didn't mean it to be comical, but he definitely said pipe theology, and I giggled. Admit it, that's funny: I turned to one of my friends and "held a Pipe and turned a lighter into a bowl" It was just plain funny, pipe theology. What he really meant is we can't be buckets and just collect God's grace, we must instead be a "pipe" and let God's goodness flow through us. It was just one to those: this will make a good blog moments.

Now on, to the more nagging question: what do you name a stuffed elephant? I really believe despite the fact that it is cream with pink teapots and cups it is a boy. But I could be persuaded otherwise. He has all pink ears, soles, and tale; navy blue eyes and I made him because I was homesick and didn't have a stuffed animal I could sleep with. So I am open to suggestions.

Funny thing: Spell check doesn't recognize blog, even though that's what this is.

Fall Break

It was so relaxing and fantastic. I headed to Lowell WI on Wednesday, after I went to Axis Infiniti, where I saw a classmate who dropped out our junior year. He is looking cutter than ever. It was just bizarre that he happened to be on leave while I was on break. That night I watched The Patriot. Not a bad movie, I did needed a blanket shield as it was the extended version. Before that, of course, I started my laundry. I'm glad that I could stay up with Sissy. I slept in Thursday until like 10:30 or later. Then I lounged and finally decided to shower, when a light bulb went off. It contained the thought: Why not an amazing relaxing bath? So I took a 45 minute bath in a tub with jets, oh that felt sooo amazing. This was followed by a bit more lounging and then I needed to get out of the house, so Sissy and I went to a park, but it had been raining for the last couple of days and it was cold, and we ended up numbing up our feet by walking through 3 thigh high puddles. We topped that off with hot chocolate and steamers from Kwik Trip. Next, dinner, of a taco casserole, good made by an incredible woman. Shortly after that I headed to square and line dance graduation with Sissy, the graduate. That was sooo fun, you would not believe how hard square dancing is. After that experience Sissy and I challenged the Parents to a game of Sequence, we won 5 rounds to 2. It was an prideful victory. Of course this was followed by late night in bed conversation, which was unfortunate, because we were to be out of the house by the next morning.
Instead we, the whole family and I, left at 10 for Chicagoland, IL to visit my former Youth Pastor and his family. It was a healing day, being able to see them. The girls are so sweet. We ate spaghetti and chocolate chip cookies for dinner, and I finished the visit doing dishes with Sissy assisting. At first I was upset that we ran out of time to visit, but then I was glad that I could serve those who had done so very much to serve me. The three hour ride home was filled with obnoxious singing and the O-Zone CD played at least two times, as well as some fun dancing, I just hope my superiors don't find out that I went "dancing" on fall break. Once we returned to Lowell it was almost straight to bed.
Saturday, Sissy worked, I shopped with Miss Lee. When we got back to the house I started to cook, which is something I can not do at school. I made amazing fruit salad with starfruit in it, Parmesan chicken, and fresh cooked broccoli with homemade cheese sauce on it. Then I watched the kids with Sissy while the parents took a break. The Middle guy and I made chocolate chip cookies, and after all three of them had 3 cookies a piece they headed to bed. It was surreal how they actually picked out a book and listened as I read it. They even stayed in bed and slept after only 20 minutes or so of chatting. Then, I watched Discovery channel until the parents returned with the demanded vanilla ice cream for the cookies. They wanted the opportunity to beat us at Sequence, but we just watched T.V. instead. I finished my laundry, packed up, and went to bed.
The next day we went to church, ran , home, returned to Mayville, and I departed with an incredible fresh loaf of bread, a care package, clean laundry, and a refreshed spirit. So thank you family 3, you gave me too much and I am so glad you did.

I am stupid?

Please, don't answer that. I just got back from making a bank deposit and getting stuff from Target. On the way back I was stopped by a man, thank goodness, I was with some guy friends from school, although I don't think this stranger would have done anything to me anyways. So, he explained his needing gas dilemma, and how he had this Victoria Secret gift card for twenty bucks, that he would sell to us for $8. I'm not a retard I have heard many phony stories, but I don't know, I actually had cash on me so I gave him some and didn't take the gift card. Now I feel dumb, but why, it is biblical to give to those who have asked. Some Christians say even if the receiver is going to use the money on something bad at least you empower them to make a choice, others say to give food or gift cards if you are worried they will use the money poorly. This guy had a car, or so he says, it's not like he's in a dire situation, but who knows, it's in God's hands now. One thing to consider, in biblical times the Israelites were commanded to give to the poor or to those who ask, but the culture was somewhat different, what do you guys think?

Now that you are pondering that, I will lighten the mood and tell you about my amazing Rock Climbing experience. I took Basic rock Climbing to fulfill a PE credit. I was scared I'd never make it up the wall and look stupid, but I had an amazing time. Maybe I'll write more about it later.

I had a fantastic time

Aunt Rose and Tuttie came, they actually wanted to go to the mall later so, we went to St. Paul and admired the architecture. We ate at Great Waters Brewery, it reminded me of Milwaukee. I had walleye, A. Tuttie had pork tenderloin, which she said was very tasty, and A. Rose had Baby badk ribs, which I thought was really delic, but my fish was sooo good, it was broiled with and served with black bean salsa. they got candy from a really cute shop and gave it to me. They also loaded me up with some cash, junk food, and shampoo. But seriously the best was seeing someone that was family.

Anxiety

Right now this very second, I am waiting for my aunts to come. They are on vacation, and they are going to stop in Minneapolis to hang with me and of course go to MOA- which I go to every week to use the transit station to get to church, but I don't shop or hang with my aunties, so I am really really excited, but they are making me wait a long time, already 26 extra minutes and I haven't heard from them since yesterday :/ But I will survive the wait and tell you about it in the next post. FYI Patric looks amazing in a surf suit

Please read all three of the most recent posts, especially Apples

Kindergarten

Although my first year of school was not so great, I believe every other child's first year should be fantastic, because Fredrich Froebel would want it to be.
I am preparing to give a group presentation on the Progressivism Philosophy of Education and I am specifically covering Fredrich Froebel. He was the German man who basically invented the most amazing year of life.

Sprinkles are Sugar Made Smiles

It is the simple things in life that make you smile. Sprinkles can be added to anything and I'm sure you'll find a smile as a result. This comment came from my peppermint ice-cream at lunch, I "peppered" it with smiles.

Apples

To thee apple orchard I went
In a wagon I did ride,
A little smiling girl, excited by my side
From the tree an apple I grasped
placed it in the bag at last
the little girl-she did too.
Little money had I so we picked only a few.
The sun shone just right
on our apple picking delight.
But, a pumpkin
a pumpkin
A PUMPKIN
is what I truly desired.
through the pile I sifted
for the pumpkin that was gifted.
The present of autumn joy,
the orange squash possessed.
But is was the smile it gave
it was that, that was the best.
